Open Book introduces people with severe and multiple disadvantage to education, beginning with drop-in classes in subjects that require no prior learning. The project then over time, through mentoring and whole-life coaching, enables people to pursue their unrealised intellectual and creative potential.
Through a partnership with Goldsmiths College, Open Book has already worked with hundreds of people to turn their lives around and attain degrees from several higher education institutions across London and Kent.
Lankelly Chase is working with Open Book to develop their work in other higher educations institutions, to develop and articulate the theory and practice behind the project’s coaching scheme, and capture stories of students who have graduated through the project.
