We are taking three approaches to place based work:
1. Supporting other foundations and national agencies e.g. Corra Foundation
2. Supporting individual organisations who are taking a collaborative approach to place e.g. The North Camden Children’s Zone, Wandsworth Community Empowerment Network, Save the Children, Arts at the Old Fire Station
3. Working more directly in places, through intermediaries.
In each place, we are starting somewhere and following wherever it leads. We do not claim that we are everywhere!
In Barking and Dagenham we are starting with senior leaders focusing on realising their borough manifesto. In Barrow in Furness (Cumbria), we are starting with the principles of the Love Barrow Families Project to change the way services work with families in Barrow.
In Manchester we are starting with a group of people with lived experience and decision-makers coming together to coproduce solutions. In York we are starting with addressing the needs of people who repeatedly use emergency services.
The work in Birmingham starts with a multi-agency pathfinder attempting to reform systems so all schools can support young people to recover from the harms they are experiencing, no matter what challenges they pose.
We are exploring relationships with partners in Gateshead.
