What attracted you to being a trustee at Lankelly Chase?
I have spent a lot of my professional life trying to understand the causes of disadvantage and how government and other groups’ policies and programmes help or don’t. This is almost always in response to government calls for research or evaluation around a particular policy or initiative. The huge attraction and importance to me of working with Lankelly Chase is that the team are free to think differently about how to understand and act on the most severe cases of disadvantage. I really admire what the team and the projects we fund do.
My other roles are head of Ipsos’ global social research practice, and Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Policy Institute at King’s College London – both of which give me an international perspective that I find incredibly useful.
