How would you describe yourself? – Strong, passionate, direct, obsessional and controlling.
What I do:
I started my career in homelessness as an outreach worker and immediately loved the role and those I supported. It ignites my passion and working for a small organisation allows me to be creative and imaginative. I don’t seem to get much spare time but when I do, I head off for the hills in my old but reliable motorhome, ‘Lottie’.
Something I would like to change in the system:
The failure of some statutory mental health services to work alongside other agencies for the benefit of the client needs addressing. If a client has substance misuse issues they want those addressed first and the drug and alcohol teams want their mental health issues sorted first. This leads the client with neither agency supporting them.
