How would you describe yourself? – Committed, tenacious, assertive with a strong imagination and a hopelessly optimistic streak.
What I do:
I am a Drug and Alcohol Outreach Worker working with members of the street community including local hostel residents providing them with support to engage in treatment and develop their recovery from drug and alcohol misuse. I have a low case load and can provide intensive support to my clients where required.
Something I would like to change in the system:
I would like to change the way that some clients access residential rehab. Currently, there is no space for relevant agencies to meet up and discuss referrals where there are complexities, and in a resource short system this needs to change. Rehabs also appear to be inconsistent in who they accept and decline.
