Elmore Community Services

How would you describe yourself? – Independent minded.

What I do:

I work with people with Complex Needs i.e. mental health together with learning difficulties, drug and alcohol problems, physical disabilities, or anything else which makes them vulnerable.  A lot of our clients are “vulnerably housed” or “hidden homeless” e.g. sofa surfing.   We try to help them get the benefits they’re entitled to, social housing, mental health treatment, and other help.

Something I would like to change in the system:

The housing system, as it is virtually impossible to get many of our clients -especially those aged under 35- housed in safe, decent, affordable housing. Without decent housing, they cannot recover.   I would also like people to be able to get the mental health treatment that they feel is right for them.
