Two Ridings Community Foundation is a charity that works in collaboration and provides grants & support to grassroots groups that are improving lives and communities in North & East Yorkshire. We do so from funds that we maintain and administer on behalf of multiple donors. We invest in people and places, building strong trusting relationships that empower people and communities to develop the activity and solutions that are right for them.
Our aim is to support disproportionate need. We want to see people and places working together to make positive change. As part of this we want to evolve and learn with and from others. We know that we are part of a wider connected system in everything we do and that we cannot facilitate positive change alone. Our work with Lankelly Chase currently (Feb 2021), is in leading an inquiry; “How do we change the systems that perpetuate multiple disadvantage for children and young people inquiry in York”. Working with a multi-disciplinary team from across York to explore that question and develop means to improve things…#TogetherWithYoungPeople. Additionally, we are working together with Lankelly, Art of Hosting and York MCN Network on a Participatory Grant Making Process. The people closest to the issues design and decide a fund around it and address systemic issues as a collective. This will share and challenge our grant making process which will build capacity both within the community and our organisation, influencing our wider grant making processes and beyond.
